- A "concealed environment" (or hidden environment) is just a nice way of saying "Jar of Tang story". A concealed environment is a form of twist ending and is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes an entire novel can be built around it (see Against a Dark Background by Iain M. Banks). Contrast with hidden history.(Source: Fritz Freiheit)
